For a year, JU Solar Team 23 has been working on developing the fifth car to represent Jönköping University in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2023
At the beginning of January 2022, the first proposal was made for the solar car that will compete in BWSC 2023. Since then, we have come a long way in the work and we have a car that is starting to take shape. At the beginning of January, work begins on assembling all the parts and many hours of test-driving to ensure that the car is as efficient as possible. Since the planning and construction of the solar car began, JU Solar Team 23 has encountered problems which we have solved as a team, setbacks that we have overcome and successes that have been celebrated in traditional Swedish spirit; with fika. After a year of hard work in preparation, we are ready to take on new challenges and see the results of all the work.
In addition to car building, the team has had time to participate in various events and go on trips to other competing teams. We made a study trip to Belgium and the Netherlands to meet the teams from Agoria Solar Team and Top Dutch Solar Racing and while in the Netherlands we took the opportunity to meet Lightyear who are building the world's first street legal solar powered car. In addition to the study trips, we have also participated in various events, among other things you have found us at El för alla - Alla för el where we also brought our car from 2019, Solilsracet where we participated as a judges, Vera day in memory of Sweden's first female engineer and Karriärum. During the spring of 2023, the parts for the car will be manufactured and assembled, which would not have been possible without our partners who have helped us with everything from materials, construction, and manufacturing to competence and availability for consultation. 2022 has been a busy year but we are looking forward to what 2023 has to offer. Follow our journey here or on our social medias, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, search for @JU Solar Team and you will find us.
