The second day of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge began with the team heading toward Tennant Creek, the third official control stop of the race. After steady driving, the solar car arrived at Tennant Creek, located about 990 km from the starting line in Darwin. The control stop officially opened at 10:00 AM on August 25 and will remain open until 11:00 AM on August 26.
At Tennant Creek, Nils Persson brought the car into the checkpoint, with Adam Wallin assisting to position the car optimally for maximum sunlight and energy gain. After the mandatory 30-minute stop, Kevin Lundström took over as driver. Leaving Tennant Creek, JU Solar Team was in 9th place.
The team then continued toward the next checkpoint, Barrow Creek, situated roughly 1,200 km from Darwin. The control stop opened at 1:00 PM today and will close at 3:00 PM tomorrow.
To conclude the day, Ellie Brismar drove the final stretch to the designated campsite, located about 140 km past Barrow Creek. There, the team set up camp, recharged the solar car, and prepared for another challenging day on the road.
With steady progress throughout the day, JU Solar Team now holds 7th position in the competition!
